An enhanced existence
Article Abstract:
Internet technology has great potential to bring people together for the purpose of sharing music, according to conductor, violinist and violist Pinchas Zukerman. Violin students will be able to see themselves and their teacher on adjacent screens, for example, and the same technology will be able to bring concerts to people in locations such as schools and hospitals. Conducting now accounts for around half his work, and he often conducts in concerts in which he also performs solos. He is also very interested in teaching, and is active in teaching in Israel, where he was born.

Belgrade bomb culture
Article Abstract:
Free lunchtime concerts in museums and galleries in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, are attracting large audiences. Many students from the Belgrade Academy are volunteering to play, feeling that this is a practical way of boosting morale at a time of stress and uncertainty. The concerts are particularly valuable in ensuring that people maintain regular social contact. Rossini's 'La Cenerentola' is in repertory at the Belgrade opera house, while four new works composed by young Serbian women are to be premiered shortly by the Belgrade Philharmonic.
