And they're off ... candidates line up early for race to the White House

Article Abstract:

Two Democrats and 10 Republicans have come forward as candidates for their party's nomination for the 2000 presidential election in the US. It is now thought unlikely that there will be any further candidates. The Democratic nomination is being sought by Vice-President Al Gore and Senator Bill Bradley of New Jersey, while the Republican candidates include Elizabeth Dole, Governor of Texas George W. Bush and Senator John McCain of Arizona. The ability to raise funds will be a key issue as the number of Democratic candidates is reduced.

His public relations team is presenting him as different from many politicians but not different from ordinary people. Strong emphasis is being placed on his commitment to values such as hard work, discipline and integrity.
