Anna Plowden

Article Abstract:

Conservator Anna Plowden studied on the Diploma Course in Conservation at the Institute of Archaeology in London, England, in the academic year 1962 to 1963. She subsequently gained a Fellowship from the British School of Archaeology, and worked on the conservation and restoration of the Nimrud Ivories in the Museum of Iraq. She later worked as a part-time lecturer at the Institute of Archaeology and set up her own company specializing in restoring and conserving archaeological and fine art objects.

Lord Plowden

Article Abstract:

Public servant Edwin Plowden was born in Strachur, Scotland, in 1907. He studied Economics at Pembroke College, Cambridge, England, and began working in the Ministry of Economic Warfare at the outbreak of the second world war.

Sir Angus Fraser

Article Abstract:

Civil servant and writer Angus Fraser was born in Maxwelltown, Scotland, in 1928. He studied at Glasgow University, Scotland, and entered the Board of Customs and Excise in 1952. He became Chmn in 1983.
