Building up the future is child's play

Article Abstract:

A number of projects will take place at Legoland, Windsor, England, as part of Architecture Week for Schools, which begins on Nov 8, 1999. These projects will include a workshop for five- to nine-year-olds to construct a tall tower for the future with architect Graham Haworth and engineer Matthew Wells and a quiz designed to encourage children to consider environmental issues associated with the built environment. Taste for a life less ordinary

Article Abstract:

Complementary colours such as blue and orange and pink and green are particularly appealing, according to film set designer Kave Quinn. Her work has gained considerable respect, especially in the case of the films 'Shallow Grave,' 'Trainspotting' and 'A Life Less Ordinary.' She uses the power of colour and light to create and change moods, and has become very skilled at combining very different aesthetics. She dislikes paint effects and decor that is completely coordinated.
