Carpetbaggers who take their wealth to the West

Article Abstract:

Many businessmen in Moscow, Russia, have been moving their wealth out of the country during the 1990s. In this way, they have significantly reduced their exposure to political instability and the collapse of the rouble. It is estimated that between $15 billion and $20 billion is removed from Russia each year, with Swiss banks alone holding around $12 billion on behalf of private individuals. Many wealthy Russians now own property in London, England, France, Israel, Cyprus, Monaco and the Costa del Sol.
