Danny Morrison comes out writing

Article Abstract:

Republicans in Northern Ireland often feel that they are misrepresented in 'Troubles fiction,' but they are also very suspicious of writing which comes from within the Republican movement, according to novelist Danny Morrison. He took part in Republican activity from the very beginning of the Troubles. and has experienced being interned without trial and being banned from Britain under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. He is soon to see the publication of this third novel, 'The Wrong Man,' which he began writing at the end of an eight-year sentence for aiding unlawful imprisonment.

Article Abstract:

Concerns about financial security should not stop you from taking up new challenges, according to Philip Whitaker. He worked extremely hard to qualify as a doctor, but could not see himself spending the rest of his working life in this role. He decided to study creative writing at the University of East Anglia, and was inspired to write his first novel, 'Eclipse of the Sun,' by a solar eclipse in India. This novel has now been nominated for a Whitbread prize.
