Did Freud come up with the greatest idea of the century?

Article Abstract:

Psychoanalysis has become part of everyday life in the 20th century, with ordinary people using terms originally associated with psychoanalysis. The language of psychoanalysis is also used in films and novels. Psychoanalysis allows everybody to become the poet of their own experience, identifying and expressing their emotions. However, it should not be seen as a miracle cure, as it can only ever be tentative and restricted. Psychoanalysis was pioneered by Sigmund Freud, whose approach to understanding the human psyche is still respected.

Snuggling down with Freud

Article Abstract:

Artist Cornelia Parker has designed an extremely unusual non-performance for actress Tilda Swinton, which will be shown at the Serpentine Gallery for a week in Sep 1995. It will involve Swinton lying in a glass casket, surrounded by many objects which belonged to famous and dead people. Parker's role is in defining the details of Swinton's fantasy performance. Swinton is hoping that visitors will see her as simply another object.
