Don't just sit there - refocus!

Article Abstract:

Many of the UK companies that have shown particularly strong growth during the 1990s have undergone a process of business transformation which has brought true competitive differentiation. Business transformation involves beginning with a new approach to business strategy, moving away from economic orthodoxy. It may mean disposing of certain parts of the business, and will involve focusing on aggressive commercial innovation. Within successful business transformation, corporate flexibility and responsiveness are improved by using outsourcing and strategic alliances.

I'm in jail in Chicago. Just research, you understand

Article Abstract:

The comedy musical 'Chicago,' which is shortly to open in the West End of London, England, is set in Cook County Jail in Chicago, IL. This facility, which houses around 10,000 inmates awaiting trial, is extremely crowded. Most of the inmates spend a great deal of time sleeping, and seem to take very little interest in visitors. Security is very tight, but many knives and other weapons are still discovered in the possession of inmates. Many of the scenes in the jail are exactly the same as those seen on American detective programmes.

Not lucky, just good

Article Abstract:

The general public know very little about the real interests and qualities of UK prime minister John Major. He has become an increasingly private figure throughout his time in office as criticism of him has become more extensive. It is widely believed that he has been lucky to remain in power through a series of crises, but this view gives no credit to his abilities. In contrast to the public perception of him, he is actually extremely ambitious and stubborn, and has great stamina and courage.
