Dr James Howard

Biomedical scientist James Griffiths Howard was internationally acclaimed for his research on immunology, particularly the cellular immunological responses to grafts. Howard worked as an advisor to such institutions as the Medical Research Council and World Health Organisation. The UK is perceived as the world leader in the field of parasitology as a result of his work on the protozoan parasitic disease leishmaniasis. Howard was passionate about classical music, fine art and good wine. He died on October 6 1998.

Dale Evans: homebody on the range

Dale Evans and her husband Roy Rogers enjoyed immense popularity because of the durability of their image. They were never out of character whether on screen or at home even keeping the names Rogers and Evans for their screen characters. Although they were not real cowboys, people believed in them.

Women who nibble in public are seen as being feminine while a public show of a hearty appetite seems not quite womanly. Discussed is a female-only club of friends who dine together and freely eat, and a plump woman greatly beloved by her mate, because of her unabashed enjoyment of food anywhere.
