Eeyore's not-so-gloomy place

Article Abstract:

Donkeys get on very well with humans, and can prove very tolerant and loyal. These characteristics mean that they are often exploited. Some of the donkeys which have fallen victim to human cruelty are now being cared for at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, England. There are more than 6,000 donkeys at this site, and the sanctuary also helps to care for many more donkeys abroad. It attracts many visitors, and also plays a vital educational role.
