Evita and Madonna

Article Abstract:

There are very mixed views in Argentina about Eva Peron, with some people seeing her as a saint and others seeing her as a whore. This has given a sensitive background to plans by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alan Parker to make a film about her. The controversy has been heightened by their choice of Madonna to play Eva Peron, as she also attracts very mixed views. Some observers feel that it is a mistake to film in Argentina itself, as Argentines are very unwilling to have their lives placed under scrutiny.

Mother fights dynasty in Spain for son

Article Abstract:

Joanna Atfield, who is fighting to gain back her two-and-a-half year old son from her former partner, Spaniard Daniel Mazin, believes that the Spanish legal system is working against her. She feels that it will be extremely difficult for her to fight against Mazin's wealthy and influential family. She denies allegations by his family that she is mentally unstable and therefore an unsuitable mother, pointing out that her fragile mental state was merely the result of pressure put on her by the family.
