'Fat cats' join the queue for treatment

Article Abstract:

National Health Service (NHS) managers have become the main target for criticism of NHS reforms, especially as they are perceived as enjoying considerable financial benefits. They must now make their commitment to patient care very clear, and must work hard to ensure that relations with doctors, the public and employees do not deteriorate further, according to speakers at their recent annual conference. Many managers have changed jobs recently, and this has also served to increase tensions between doctors and managers and staff.

Article Abstract:

There have been a number of highly-publicised cases of NHS mismanagement recently, but most ordinary people are still in favour of an NHS free at the point of delivery.
