Article Abstract:
The Richard Attenborough Centre for Disability and the Arts has opened recently on the campus of Leicester University. The building, designed by Ian Taylor of Bennett Associates, is intended to cope with any type of disability, acting as an arts teaching and research facility for many people who would not otherwise have had access to this type of education. Features include clear changes of surfaces and materials, which assists people with sight or hearing problems, and excellent acoustics.

Golly! Gosh!
Article Abstract:
Virginia Bottomley, secretary of state for heritage, comes from a background which would more readily be associated with that of a Labour MP, having worked as a lecturer and a social worker. She has tried to present a tough image, but this never seems to be successful. She attracted extensive criticism for her plans for hospital closures when she was secretary of state for health, but emphasises that there will be no cuts in government spending on the arts.
