He may not know what he wants, but he knows how to get it
Article Abstract:
New Sun editor David Yelland appears to be considering using stunts such as attacking UK Prime Minister Tony Blair as 'the most dangerous man in Britain' as a way of reviving the newspaper's circulation. Some observers have expressed reservations about this approach, pointing out that the media climate may now have turned against tabloid newspaper stunts. However, others have praised his style, which has been quiet and thoughtful and has avoided entering into direct conflict with the Mirror, the Sun's main rival.

Article Abstract:
Almost all national Sunday newspapers in the UK saw increased sales in Jan 1999 compared with Dec 1998. This can largely be attributed to promotional campaigns. The Express on Sunday, the Sunday Mirror and the Mail on Sunday all offered flights, ferries or holidays to France. The Sunday Mirror also gave away Lucky Bags, while the People offered an Instant Money Bag. The Observer offered free flights, free holidays, free CDs and free tickets for the Monet exhibition.
