Hell is halfway to paradise

Article Abstract:

Men can suffer deep feelings of confusion as they enter middle age and are forced to begin facing up to the reality of their own mortality. In most cases, men are unwilling to admit to these feelings, and do not seek advice. They often turn to cliched behaviour such as drinking a lot or finding a young mistress in order to block out their fear of growing old. Experts believe that it is now time to abolish the taboo surrounding the male mid-life crisis, thus allowing men to express their feelings openly.

'What we have is like a marriage.'

Article Abstract:

Drag artist Bette Bourne feels that his relationship with fellow drag artist Paul Shaw is very like a marriage. He believes that the fact that they perform together has given their relationship a depth it probably would not have had otherwise. Shaw agrees, but emphasizes that they do not behave in their private life as they often do on stage. He admires Bourne's warmth and directness.
