Article Abstract:
Up to 90% of the users of the Internet so far have been male, but this situation may now be starting to change. Most Usenet Newsgroups are dominated by men, mainly because of the Internet's background in the academic community, where men are in a strong majority. Women have also been reluctant to come to terms with the technology associated with the Internet. However, they are now starting to see its advantages, and are linking up with other women across the world.
