'I have already been mistaken for the children's grandfather.' (experiences of older fathers; includes case studies)
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly common for men to father children at a later age in the UK. Some older men become fathers because they have entered a second or third marriage, while others decide with their partner to wait before starting a family. Some 50,000 children every year are born to men over 40, compared with only 8,000 to women over 40. Older men generally enjoy having a young family, and tend to be relaxed and tolerant.

That designer jumper you're wearing. Where did it come from? Milan? Paris? Or a council house in Halifax?
Article Abstract:
Many knitted items sold by designers are made by knitting syndicates. These are made up of as few as two or as many as two hundred people, most of whom work from home. Designers usually do not wish it to be known that they use knitting syndicates, as they feel that it does not enhance their image. They also do not acknowledge that the people who manage the knitting syndicates have a high input in terms of design.

Don't be distressed, it's chic fatigue
Article Abstract:
Distressed clothes have become extremely fashionable over recent years, with people wanting to look expensively dressed but not flashy. Clothing shop Voyage, situated on the Fulham Road in west London, specialises in this sort of clothing and has seen high demand for items which are new but crumpled and faded. This trend seems to stem from the British tradition of not wanting to look wealthy.
