I wanted to be Gene Kelly

Article Abstract:

Actor David Morrissey believes that he is frequently cast as an obsessive character partly because of the cautiousness of the television industry. He feels that programme makers tend to like actors to take on similar roles from one series to another. He tries to imagine what the everyday lives of these characters would be like, rather than viewing them as mentally unstable. He does not feel that he is more temperamentally suited to these roles than other actors.

Welshness is a state of mind

Article Abstract:

Welsh playwright Ed Thomas feels that Welsh culture was absent from the environment in which he grew up. His first play, 'House of America,' was designed to simply draw attention to Welsh culture. In fact, it was to have a much more extensive impact. Thomas has since written a series of other plays which seek to challenge traditional stereotypes about Wales and the Welsh. His latest play, 'Gas Station Angel,' reflects a mood of qualified optimism.
