Jonathan Silver

Article Abstract:

Jonathan Silver set up a gallery in a large Victorian mill near Bradford, England. He also held musical events at the gallery which has attracted large numbers of visitors. Silver spent time in the Israeli army prior to studying art history and textiles at Leeds University, England. He set up a successful chain of men's clothing stores which he sold in 1979 in order to focus on developing mills. He created accessible stores and galleries, offering good value as well as visual pleasure.

Harry Lunn

Article Abstract:

Photographic art dealer Harry Lunn majored in Economics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and worked with the international wing of the National Students Association until 1967. He began selling photographs in 1971, when he held his first Ansel Adams show. He accumulated an extremely extensive inventory of photographs, and taught others how to recognize quality. He was a driving force behind the creation of the Association of International Photographic Art Dealers.

Daniel Wildenstein

Article Abstract:

Art dealer and racehorse owner Daniel Wildenstein was born in Verrieres-le-Buisson, France, in 1917. He took over the family business from his father in 1963, and specialized in the work of Monet and Gauguin. By 1968, he was the leading racehorse owner in France.
