Jung: the key that's hidden at 228 Seestrasse

Article Abstract:

Carl Jung, the great psychologist, died at 228 Seestrasse, Kusnacht, suburb of Zurich, Switzerland in 1961 and his son Franz has tried to maintain the building as it was at that time, including his father's study which is untouched. There has been considerable disagreement about The Red Book, Jung's diary that records his fantasies during the time he had a nervous breakdown, five years in all, after he split with Freud in 1912 to 1913. Franz steadfastly refuses to release this diary in spite of great pressure from scholars who insist that Jung's work cannot be separated from Jung as a man.

Truly, madly, deeply missing Crouch End

Article Abstract:

Anthony Minghella has had tremendous success with Truly, Madly, Deeply, his first film as writer director, and as a result has had to spend a considerable amount of time in Hollywood where he is becoming homesick. This film immediately elevated him into the top tier of British directors, although he had had success as a playwright with Made in Bangkok and as a writer for television with Inspector Morse. Before going to Hollywood he was scripting Jim Henson's television series The Storyteller.

'Friends! We weren't friends! I was deeply in love with you.' (experiences of love between boarding school girls)

Article Abstract:

A woman who attended boarding school as a teenager tells of the way in which some girls developed a strong attachment to other girls. In her case, she was for several years very attached to an older girl, almost to the point of being in love with her. The older girl had no idea that she was the object of such adoration, acting in a friendly but rather aloof manner. In later life, it proved inappropriate to try to explain to her what a powerful influence she had been.
