Knights at the opera

Article Abstract:

Opera director Nikolaus Lehnhoff does not feel that he operates in an autocratic way, even though he plans meticulously. He is more interested in his working conditions than in the amount of money he earns, and avoids taking up permanent posts. He greatly enjoys working at Glyndebourne, which he feels is conducive to his work. He is currently working on a production of Wagner's 'Parsifal' with the English National Opera. It has taken him many years to feel ready to involve himself in 'Parsifal.'

It is important to give appropriate emphasis to the spoken test, bringing the dialogue scenes to life. Intimacy is a key element of this opera, and Vick is able to achieve this, even in a large setting.
