Article Abstract:
UK business schools are beginning to place much more emphasis on the need for their Masters in Business Administration (MBA) students to acquire team work and leadership skills. At Durham University Business School, MBA students are now being given a much wider skills base, although the time devoted to knowledge and theory has not been reduced. The MBA at Strathclyde is designed to be as integrated as possible, while Henley develops personal skills and offers workshops on subjects such as voice coaching and time management.

Holidays: the perfect time to go to school?
Article Abstract:
It is possible to study a very wide range of subjects at summer schools in the UK. Edinburgh College of Art, for example, offers both traditional art courses and new options such as desktop publishing and Web page design. Middlesex University offers more than 60 courses, and expects more than 1,000 students in summer 1998. Most of its courses carry university credit, but it is not necessary for students to be assessed if they do not wish to.

Take your pick of the bunch
Article Abstract:
There are now 116 providers of MBA courses in the UK, and around 9,000 students graduate with an MBA each year. It is widely recognized that an MBA qualification offers a range of skills needed for general or senior level management, including marketing, information technology and accountancy. It can be hard to select the best MBA course, but all institutions accredited by the Association of MBAs will offer a guaranteed basic quality.
