In fear of living dangerously

Article Abstract:

A strong element of personal freedom has emerged in British society, but this has in turn led to a rise in crime, particularly violent crime. High profile cases of people disappearing, apparently abducted by strangers, have served to make people become very concerned about their personal safety. There is now growing demand for controlled environments and strong emphasis on eliminating risks.

It could be the most powerful 'minority' ever. Fearful, anxious, vociferous, often confused and sometimes violent. Meet the victims of the Nineties: men

Article Abstract:

Many men in the UK feel that they have now become victims of social, political and economic changes. Women have gained in confidence, and seem able to cope very well without male support. As a result, men are starting to become more like women in many respects. However, there are also signs that men are fighting back by placing more emphasis on basic masculinity.
