Tories discover the benefits of debate

Article Abstract:

At the Conservative Party conference in Brighton, the party realised the strengthening value of internal debate when differences of opinion on Europe were argued. Prime Minister John Major dismissed Labour and the Liberal Democrats as irrelevant and barely mentioned the future exchange-rate policy. He expressed his ordinariness as he did at the General Election. He said he would never allow the 'British identity to be lost in a federal Europe.'

Major prepares party for 'the fight of our lives.' (prime minister John Major addresses Conservative party conference)

Article Abstract:

The Conservative party is determined to be returned to government at the next general election, according to prime minister John Major in his speech to the 1995 Conservative party conference. The party still has many new ideas, and will win support with tax cuts and by increasing policing presence. If the Labour party fails to win the next general election, then socialism will have no future at all in the UK.
