Mandelson has chance to relaunch Ulster peace process

Article Abstract:

There have been mixed reactions to Peter Mandelson's appointment as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Unionists have welcomed his appointment, as they disliked Mo Mowlam, whom he replaces. However, nationalists regret Mowlam's departure, as they had established a good relationship with her. He will assume his responsibilities just as the Mitchell review of the Good Friday Agreement reaches its most important stages.
