Everybody must be accountable to their own conscience, according to Mohamed Othman, whose wife and six of his seven children were killed when Israeli jets bombed their tent in Janta, Lebanon, on Dec 22, 1998. He regards those who perished as martyrs. It is possible that the Israeli jet pilots were attempting to bomb a Hizbollah training camp a mile away on the other side of Janta. Media coverage has focused on the fact that the Hizbollah fired a few rockets into northern Israel in response.

Israel adopts Nato's bomb doctrine

Article Abstract:

The Israelis appear to be targeting the infrastructure of Lebanon, following the example of Nato in Yugoslavia, where many bridges and electricity switching stations were destroyed. The clear message from Israel is that if Hizbollah fire any more rockets into Israel, then Israel will be free to create extensive damage in part of Lebanon. The prospects for a peaceful Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon seem very bleak.
