Rich pickings at the executive dining table
Article Abstract:
It has become common in the UK for even fairly minor celebrities to be able to earn large sums of money from after-dinner speaking. Minor celebrities can earn between 3,000 pounds sterling and 4,000 pounds sterling per event, while top speakers can earn a great deal more. The most successful speakers are those who have an international profile. These include former Hong Kong Governor Chris Patten, who can earn up to 20,000 pounds sterling per appearance in the UK.

I was at the birth. I didn't faint. Is there a magazine grown up enough to tell me what to do next?
Article Abstract:
Magazine publishers in the UK have completely overlooked men with young children. There are many magazines for mothers with young children, but these fail to address the needs of fathers. However, many men are now calling for a magazine which would address issues such as child-friendly pubs and restaurants and how to keep children entertained. They feel that a magazine oriented towards men could gain a lot of advertising if it advised on financial issues.
