UK: BA REVEALS KLM MERGER DEADLINE

Article Abstract:

British Airways (BA) aims to agree aspects of its merger with KLM by end-September 2000, with the former's executives believing that the chances of an agreement after this time will diminish. The GB[pound] 4.5bn deal could lead to Buzz, the Dutch airline's low-cost arm, being disposed of in order to gain regulatory clearance, with the Go unit of BA to be retained.

UK: EASYJET RAISES MORE CASH

Article Abstract:

EasyJet revealed on 1 December 2000 that an extra GB[pound] 29.3mn had been raised via an over-allotment option. The UK-based discount airline has now raised GB[pound] 224.6mn in total.
