Never glad confident Sainsbury's again
Article Abstract:
Supermarket chain Sainsbury's is reported to be losing market share. This is likely to be because it has become a victim of its own success. Its stores are always extremely crowded, and this deters people who are in a hurry from shopping there. Some shoppers also dislike the way in which Sainsbury's tries to be the shopper's 'friend.' This approach includes in-store promotions and television advertisements giving recipe details. In many cases, it is much easier to shop quickly in a local convenience store.

Greer on Gazza: in his lumpy shorts, the idiot savant who won us all over
Article Abstract:
Reactions to the Euro 96 football championship among both men and women in the UK indicate the strong social impact which football can have. Football unites men especially, and women are unable to compete with its power. The great determination shown by the English players in the recent match against Germany, especially Paul Gascoigne, highlighted the almost noble aspect of the sport. It now has a central place in British culture which other art forms can never hope to hold.

The last days of man?
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the potential redundancy of men are discussed. It is argued that, although some men can be useless, women do not wish to annihilate men. If men render themselves extinct, then women will become extinct too.
