New spread reduces fat in the body

Article Abstract:

Finnish manufacturer, Raisio, will launch the cholesterol-reducing margarine, Benecol, in the UK from the start of 1998 after striking an agreement to promote the product in Europe with US-based McNeil Consumer Products. Daily consumption of Benecol is claimed to result in a 10% reduction in blood cholesterol and will compete directly in the UK with a new margarine from Unilever. Benecol's launch will signal a new phase in the market for products which fill the void between medicines and foods, known as nutraceuticals, and along with Unilever's offering will spark a margarine battle for a market valued at over GB 1bn worldwide.

Chat software is beginning to become more popular than electronic mail as a quick and convenient way of communicating with colleagues and friends. Chat software is much quicker than electronic mail, and there is also the advantage of chat services not being hosted by individual company servers, thus making it hard for information technology managers to monitor their use. The availability of instant responses and online conversations means that chat software can be a cheaper alternative to telephone and video conferencing in the working environment.
