Obsessed with food? No, no, not Linda
Article Abstract:
Linda Huett, general manager of Weight Watchers UK, is not particularly slim, but is happy with herself as she is, and, having lost around 5 stone, is no longer obsessed with her weight. She dieted unsuccessfully for many years, and feels that society is very much prejudiced against fat people. She believes that Weight Watchers has a very positive approach, stopping people from seeing food as an enemy and from being obsessed with food. She is very keen to promote this approach, claiming that it can give people a renewed sense of normality and stability.

The midwife crisis
Article Abstract:
The UK's midwives have become very angry about the way they have been treated by the government, having seen their status downgraded while being given extra responsibilities. The crisis came when they were offered a pay rise of only 1%, and they have now voted to overturn a 115-year-old policy of not taking industrial action. Some believe that strike action will not actually be taken, as midwives would never leave a woman in labour, but there is certainly a possibility that midwives will refuse to undertake essential administrative tasks.
