PLO second thoughts chill Mid-East peace
Article Abstract:
The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) is thought to be taking a new tough line which could endanger the future of the Middle East peace process. It is no longer focusing on 'final-status' talks, and is instead saying that all Jewish settlements must be dissolved and that east Jerusalem must be the Palestinian capital. Israel is now coming under growing pressure to accelerate the schedule for Palestinian autonomy and a complete withdrawal from occupied territories.

Despairing end for Middle East 'summit of hope.'
Article Abstract:
Talks between Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, King Hussein of Jordan and Yasser Arafat of the PLO have not brought any clear progress in the Middle East peace process. Israel has not promised to end Jewish settlement expansion and Yasser Arafat did not say that action will be taken against Islamic militants in Gaza. No date has been set for Palestinian elections, although further talks between Israel and Palestine have been scheduled.

Israeli flag flies over Palestinians' peace symbol
Article Abstract:
Israeli troops have taken over the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The takeover of Orient House in Jerusalem is humiliating for the Palestinians. It is seen as a reprisal for the Palestinian bombing of a pizza restaurant.
