Poltergeists soften up for the caring Nineties
Article Abstract:
Investigator of the paranormal Tony Cornell uses scientific methods to examine poltergeists and apparitions. Traditionally poltergeists are portrayed as nasty spirits but they appear to be behaving better in the 90's. Mr Cornell is president of the Cambridge University Society for Psychical Research. Demonic possession and resurrection have mainly disappeared in the 20th century. Stone-throwing is a frequent example of poltergeist activity.

Student's dream wrecked by domestic slavery
Article Abstract:
Some migrant domestic workers are imprisoned and exploited by their employers in Britain. UK immigration law allows overseas visitors to bring servants into the country but they do not have any rights and can be deported if they lose their jobs. The government is being lobbied to change the law giving domestic servants independent work permits and the right to change jobs, as is the case in many other European countries.
