Preparing for the ton-up gang

Article Abstract:

The Open University believes that it has a role to play in raising public awareness of ageism in the UK. Its course 'An Ageing Population,' run in the late 1970s, was widely seen as the first significant course on ageing. Its current gerontology course, 'An Ageing Society,' raises awareness of issues relating to aging. The Open University's School of Health and Social Welfare has also recently created the Centre for Ageing and Biographical Studies. This aims to encourage an analysis of the whole lives of older people.
