So much on offer for nationalists and yet so little for the Unionists

Article Abstract:

The British government has set a five day deadline for the political parties in Northern Ireland to break the deadlock in the peace process. The Ulster Unionist party is angry that they are expected to make concessions without any sign that the IRA is decommissioning weapons.

Nationalists divide over the vexed issue of policing

Article Abstract:

There is continued conflict in Northern Ireland about the reorganized police force. The Irish government, the SDLP and the Catholic church believe that the changes to the police force are sufficient to allow nationalist to join, while Sinn Fein feels that there should be further reforms.
