Single for the sake of my career

Article Abstract:

It has become increasingly common in the UK for women to put their career before their personal life. There is a growing group of women in their 30s who are committed to their career and have strong friendships, but have no partner or children. Indeed, 20% of women born since the 1960s are expected to choose to remain childless, and this is forecast to reach 30% by 2010. Some observers believe that single women in their 30s are not necessarily happy, and that many of them will marry by the age of 40.

It's Wednesday the 25th: just another working day

Article Abstract:

Many Britons will be required to work on Christmas Day. Some enjoy doing so, especially if it distances them from family tensions or allows them to earn generous overtime payments. However, others resent having to be apart from their family and friends on Christmas Day. Research indicates that people working for small companies are more likely to have time off over the Christmas period than those who work for larger organisations.

Quarantine laws in the dog house

Article Abstract:

Cats and dogs which enter the UK from European Union and other countries which the World Health Organisation recognises as not having a problem with rabies should not be subject to compulsory quarantine, according to the RSPCA. This stance has been welcomed by many dog owners. At present, domestic pets must stay in quarantine for six months, and this can cost as much as 2,000 pounds sterling.
