Take a click through the cyber gallery

Article Abstract:

The World Wide Web allows a very wide range of paintings to be viewed on the Internet. Net art galleries will never completely replace actually seeing the work of art in real life, and they may even encourage more people to go to art exhibitions. The most interesting Internet art site is the Otis gallery, which is managed by a group of artists and programmers and contains many images. Others include the Louvre Web site, the Arthole, The Well and Global Union Square.

My worst nightmare: the virus I catch on the Net

Article Abstract:

There is a considerable risk that software downloaded from the Internet could contain a virus which has the potential to completely wipe out the user's computer system. It is believed that there are now around 6,000-7,000 viruses infecting the world's computers, and more are being discovered all the time. The Internet has become the main carrier for viruses, which can copy themselves into many other applications once they load into a computer's memory.

Cyberspace for the political animal

Article Abstract:

There are now at least 30 national governments and international organisations which provide information on the World Wide Web and through gopher servers, and this number is rising all the time. In the US, there is a vast range of national and state-related information, but the White House Web server is probably the most useful. Of the non-US information, the UK government's is the best, particularly the Collaborative Open Groups system.
