Tax alarm for classic car owners
Article Abstract:
Classic car owners are protesting strongly against plans to make motorists pay 135 pounds sterling for a road fund licence even if they do not use their car on the road. This will have a particular impact on keen collectors who own a number of cars which are for show rather than for regular use. It will also affect the availability of spares, as the tax may be applied to cars in scrapyards, encouraging the scrapping of wrecked vehicles which are currently kept in scrapyards for spares.

Mortgage arrears: a user's guide
Article Abstract:
A recent Court of Appeal ruling indicates that people who fall behind with their mortgage repayments and are then later able to resume payments could have the right to have the arrears consolidated and rescheduled over the whole of the remaining length of the mortgage. Many mortgage lenders are already taking a more understanding and flexible attitude to arrears, and will suspend a repossession order if there is a chance of obtaining a negotiated settlement.

Make your will. Before you die
Article Abstract:
Many people intend to make a will, but in fact 70% of adults in the UK never do so. Many difficulties can arise when a person dies without having made a will, especially as personal wealth has risen and inheritance tax regulations have become more complicated. According to law, the assets of a person who dies without making a will must be divided up according to a set formula, but this does not take into account relationships other than marriage and blood.
