That crock of gold waiting for you at retirement could turn to dust if you don't plan properly
Article Abstract:
Some financial experts believe that the UK government's decision to allow personal pension policyholders to wait until the age of 75 before they are obliged to use the accumulated funds to purchase an annuity could bring problems for many pensioners, rather than the greater flexibility promised by the government. They fear that pensioners could be persuaded by unscrupulous insurance companies to transfer their funds, and that removing too much income from the pension fund capital could bring financial hardship. Anyone considering investing capital must constantly monitor the investment.

A new travesty is waiting to happen
Article Abstract:
The report of the Royal Commission on criminal justice recommends police discipline for malpractice including fraud and perjury. The report does not forbid convictions based on uncorroborated confessions, although false confessions are obtained by terrorising the suspect. Negligent failure to disclose should be a serious disciplinary offence. The Commission proposes minimum standards of efficiency and integrity for forensic scientists. Equal scientific facilities should be available to the prosecution and the defence.
