NIH plans Web-based journal in biosciences
Article Abstract:
The National Institutes of Health's (NIH) plan to develop a Web site for biomedicine researchers to post their scientific papers has been strongly criticized by medical journal publishers. Those opposing the plan said that the Web site would undermine the standards for journal publication and the dissemination of new clinical findings. Funding for the Web site, which will be called E-biomed, will come from $15.6 billion NIH budget.
