The big question

Article Abstract:

Some women have a clear idea of what they want to wear at their wedding a long time in advance, while others prefer to leave preparations until the last minute. Similarly, some women are prepared to spend a great deal of money on their wedding dress and all the accessories, while others prefer to limit costs. For men, the decisions are generally more straightforward. Many men choose to hire their wedding clothes, but some are willing to go to the expensive of having a suit tailor-made.

When beauty is only skin deep

Article Abstract:

Dennis Cockell has been a tattooist since 1970 but 1992 has been his busiest year as body art is in vogue. Real tattoos cannot be removed except by an expensive operation, but temporary tattoos are available. Colours have improved and fashion designers use fake tattoos in their shows. Body Art's most popular temporary tattoo design is a red rose. Tattooing is illegal in New York City and some US states. Some men consider the pain of real tattooing macho.

Goodbye Ossie and Amen

Article Abstract:

The recent death of fashion designer Ossie Clark has drawn media attention to how influential he was in the 1960s and 1970s. Many women greatly enjoyed wearing his clothes, and some still have items which he designed. He helped to launch the careers of other designers, and was regarded as a very top quality dressmaker and cutter. He succeeded in linking romanticism with modernity, and his cut and style closely reflected the mood of the time.
