These boots were made for buying

Article Abstract:

A & G Martin-Stone is an old-fashioned, independent shoe shop on the Edgware Road, London, England. All types of shoes are available there. It sells quality brogues and Oxfords at low prices because its overheads are low. They deal with old-established Northamptonshire factories such as Arthur Sergeant, who are willing to make a small number of shoes in Martin-Stone's design. Best-selling items are middle-aged ladies' shoes and gold ballet pumps.

Bridges for the city of dreams

Article Abstract:

The Royal Academy of Art's latest exhibition, entitled 'Living Bridges,' conveys the excitement which for many people is associated with bridges. It looks in particular at inhabited bridges, such as Rialto Bridge, Venice, and Ponte Vecchio, Florence. The exhibition links contemporary technology and a sense of occasion, and is the fruit of extensive research by Peter Murray, Mary Anne Stevens and Jean Dethier, its curators.

Article Abstract:

Designer Sir Terence Conran has been influencing tastes in home furnishings for more than 30 years, and still remains in tune with modern tastes and economic reality. He has high standards, but has always tried to avoid an elitist approach. He has recently become guest-editor of 'Elle Decoration,' a magazine which aims to link fashion and design.
