Tills ring as the agencies trade in love

Article Abstract:

Dating agencies are a growth sector in the United Kingdom in spite of the recession. Agencies' business has increased since being allowed to advertise on TV and radio although many agencies have gone bankrupt and folded. The market leader is Dateline, which pairs people by computer. There is increasing demand for upmarket agencies catering for middle-class professionals who have little time to socialise. Dating organisations are extremely selective about potential members and are also very expensive.

Rich pickings for the new millionaires

Article Abstract:

A considerable number of new millionaires are emerging in the UK. Most of them are relatively young, and have gained their wealth in new, rapidly expanding industries. There are indications that businessmen and women are becoming more dynamic, with the UK now taking on the positive business culture already firmly established in the US. However, some observers point out that the UK still lacks the large layer of medium-sized companies seen in Germany.
