UK: ELECTROCOMPONENTS' CATALOGUE PUT ONLINE

Article Abstract:

Electrocomponents, the UK electronics supplier, is to put its RS Components catalogue on the business-to-business website called Global Trading Web. This trading site is run by Commerce One and brings together buyers with suppliers. RS Components already runs its own successful web site with e-purchasing facilities. Analysts were concerned that the new deal might disrupt existing systems but Electrocomponents' general manager Steve Hone insisted the two portals were complementary. Electrocomponents is considering further e-commerce developments in the months ahead.
