US spy planes reveal Israel's secrets

Article Abstract:

The US has been operating Airborne Warning and Control System (Awacs) flights along the border between Israel and Jordan since at least the mid-1980s. These are designed to monitor the communications of the Israeli army and air force very closely, and even go as far as to listen in to the radio traffic of Israeli army units inside the occupied West Bank. The US now openly teaches Hebrew to Awacs crews, and employs around 100 Arab scholars at the Defense Languages Institute. Israeli intelligence operatives have done nothing to stop intelligence-gathering activities by the US.

A rocket is returned to sender

Article Abstract:

Investigations undertaken in the aftermath of the Israeli helicopter attack on an ambulance in southern Lebanon on Apr 13, 1996, have shed light on the fact that weaponry seems to be being transferred from US armouries to Israel. There is particular concern that no conditions appear to be being attached to the use of this weaponry. There are now very close links between lawmakers in the US and Israel, and this means that there has been no public debate in the US about the supply of weapons to Israel or about the use of these weapons against civilians in Lebanon.

How America keeps its ally armed to the teeth

Article Abstract:

The US continues to supply a wide range of weaponry to Israel without conditions. This gives Israel military supremacy over its Arab neighbours. The strong Jewish lobby in the US ensures that the Congress does not undertake any in-depth investigations into how Israel actually uses the weapons supplied by the US. In fact, many US weapons have been used by Israel in its conflict with Lebanon. Indeed, almost every piece of artillery, helicopter, warplane, missile and shell used in the Israeli bombardment of Lebanon in 1996 came from the US.
