Voodoo chile's slight return

Article Abstract:

Alan Douglas's company , AreYou Experienced, is the authorised agent to produce and license Jimi Hendrix's albums on behalf of a company which bought the estate from Hendrix's father. Douglas worked with Hendrix in his last 18 months and says he was in a transitional stage where he recorded hundreds of hours of studio sessions and jams, earmarked for a new album, The First Rays of the New Rising Sun. Douglas sorted through the tapes and chose eight takes, brought in session musicians as Jimi would have done and produced the album Crash Landing.

Hit from behind

Article Abstract:

The Allisons wrote their own song 'Are You Sure' which sold a million copies and was number one in 22 countries. John Allison and his partner Bob signed with Fontana Records in 1960 and entered the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 to come second. Their next record, 'Words' was not a success because the record company gave it the wrong type of backing to make it similar to thier first success. John felt the agent, manager, record company and publisher were working separately and failed to handle The Allisons well, so they disbanded.

A slight change of course

Article Abstract:

Middlesex University Business School and City University are both making changes to their Masters in Business Administration (MBA) courses, recognizing that the current business environment requires managers who are able to manage and lead change. At Middlesex University, the MBA course now places as much emphasis on skills as on knowledge, and seeks to take an integrated approach to learning. At City University, there are six specialist MBAs, with all MBA students also taking an 'expert module.'
