Article Abstract:

The UK Equal Opportunities Commission has traditionally been associated with defending the rights of women. However, efforts are now being made to ensure that it places equal emphasis on men's rights. Its remit is to protect the rights of everybody, and it is therefore in a strong position to be balanced and fair. It is now time to move away from seeing gender in terms of women dominating over men or men dominating over women and to focus simply on serving the common good.
