What's love got to do with it?
Article Abstract:
Assisted reproduction raises a number of significant ethical issues. Scientists carrying out gamete intra-fallopian transfer and IVF interfere in the reproductive act, and therefore reduce very young human beings to mere commodities, possibly to be destroyed if they are found to be abnormal in any way. It is important to regard these young human beings as if they were manufactured entities and to see women's fertility as a type of product manufacture. It is now time to impose moral limits, recognizing that patients should not necessarily have whatever they want.
