Who wants to be a billionairess?

Article Abstract:

US tobacco heiress Doris Duke was extremely wealthy, but ended her life unhappy and lonely. She found that money can often lead to many difficulties, even though she led a very privileged lifestyle. She left an estate worth $1.2 billion for the creation of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, which is set to become one of the largest charitable trusts in the US. A court battle has developed over her estate, particularly over Bernard Lafferty, who became her butler in 1987 and was named as a co-executor shortly before her death.

Is this the end for Mob rule?

Article Abstract:

Italian and Spanish police have worked together to arrest Sicilian drug king Pasquale Cuntrera in Fuengirola, Spain. He had been released from prison in Italy on a technicality and had fled the country. He will now be returned to Italy, where he will serve 21 years in prison. The authorities in Italy have had considerable success recently in cracking down on Cosa Nostra activity, but they are aware that they must not become complacent, especially as Bernardo Provenzano, the most important mafioso, remains at large.

The control freak

Article Abstract:

Record producer Phil Spector is the subject of legal action brought by Ronnie, his former wife, and two other members of the Ronettes. They claim that he has cheated them out of vast sums of money in royalties. He claims that Ronnie abandoned the rights to the Ronettes' song book in the divorce settlement she made with him in 1974. She alleges that she signed the divorce settlement only because he threatened her with violence. Spector has become reclusive in recent years, but has been performing well in court.
