Who's afraid of the catwalk?

Article Abstract:

It is often stated that fashion demeans women, who fall victim to its images of beauty and glamour. However, new trends such as grunge have broadened women's range of responses to fashion, and fashion for women is now becoming more involved with status than with sex.
